
Randy Curry, president of Western Oklahoma State College presents a plaque
to Hall of Fame inductee, Maury Tate, at a Foundation and Alumni
Recognition Banquet Feb. 1, at Altus. Tate was selected as the 2008
honoree for his part of the successful 1984-86 WOSC rodeo team. Not long
afterward, Tate began making a name for himself in the professional rodeo
circuit, winning several calf roping titles, including the Dodge National
Circuit Finals and Prairie Circuit Champion. In 1987, he founded the "Mo"
Betta clothing company which became wildly successful after rodeo cowboys
and country music superstars began wearing his shirt designs. Tate
operated the Cody Nite Rodeo in Cody, Wy. and is a Professional rodeo
Cowboy Association livestock contractor.
